In 2016 I wrote a blog post entitled “5 Essential Oils That Can Benefit People With Thyroid Conditions”. It was a very popular post, and so in 2017 I decided to write another well-researched article that focused on the benefits of Myrrh and Frankincense. Perhaps I’ll write another blog post or article in the near future that focuses on other essential oils, but I’d like to know whether you have used essential oils, and if so, what has been your experience with them?
If you have had a positive experience when taking essential oils please let me know! Or if for any reason you had a negative experience please let me know! Of course it would be great if your experience relates to thyroid health, but even you used essential oils to improve your health in other ways feel free to share your comments below.
I’d also like to mention that a few months ago my friend Dr. Eric Zielinski released a new book called “The Healing Power of Essential Oils“, and so if you want to learn even more about essential oils you might want to check this out.
I have had great experiences with essential oils for many conditions for my skin, hair, mood, hormones, sleep, etc.. In fact, I created a product line (NOT an MLM – it’s my own original creations)
and the thyroid formula blend I have contains: Fractionated Coconut Oil, Frankincense, Lemongrass, Myrrh, Peppermint, Geranium, Clary Sage, and Clove.
It smells so great. I roll it directly on my thyroid and my wrists every day. I can’t be sure how it’s helping my thyroid because I’ve greatly reduced my TPO (I’m hashi), but it brings me up and seems to make me feel better in general. find me at indigohealingoils.com (also on FB). Thanks!
Hi Julie,
I’m glad to hear that you have had some great experiences with essential oils, and that’s awesome about it helping to reduce your TPO antibodies. Thanks for letting us know!
Hello Dr. Eric,
First I would like to thank you for all of the wonderful information that I receive. It has been so beneficial in my every day life, & a blessing beyond measure. Thank you for all of your time that you take out of your busy schedule to want to help people.
I had read about Frankincense Oil & all the wonderful things this oil can do. I decided to try it on some ganglion cyst that I had at the base of my thumb. I would put a drop of the oil on the center of a band aid & leave it on over night. I repeated this daily. I don’t quite remember for how many days, but all I know is that it worked, & it has never returned. I have told many other’s about this & they have tried it & have had nothing but success. Just thought I would pass this along.
All the best,
Deborah A DeSimone
Hi Deborah,
Thank you for your kind email, as I’m so happy to hear that you enjoy reading my information! That’s great news about the Frankincense oil helping with the ganglion cyst! Thanks for sharing your experience with myself and everyone else reading this post!
I use Neroli oil on my pillow at night and it helps me sleep throught the night.
Thanks for sharing your experience Anne!
I have used Lavender to give me a more restful sleep and Tea Tree for small wounds that healed faster then ever, and I have blended some also for energy. I truly want to experience more and see if it can help my endocrine issues…diabetes, hypothyroid/Hashimoto’s disease, and adrenal fatigue. I would also love to see if there is any that can help with osteoarthritis. I truly believe it is far better to go natural…I know God made it so our bodies could heal itself, but to have all the right food and any natural aides to help is a plus!
Thank you for all the information you send about thyroid conditions. I thought I had hyperthyroidism and went through a test 3 years ago. The test showed my thyroid is normal. The signs I thought were related to hyperthyroidism must be something else; perhaps related to autoimmunity.
I tried lavender oil and don’t like the scent. For the past year, I’ve used coconut oil, which you called a carrier oil, on my skin and have great results related to my eczema. Also, I use Moroccan argan oil on my face and palms for eczema. I use it daily to achieve the benefits.
Hi Ivy,
Sometimes elevated cortisol and/or adrenaline levels can mimic hyperthyroid symptoms. I’m sorry that you don’t like the scent of lavender oil, although I’m glad that you have had success with coconut oil and Moroccan argan oil.
Essential oils are a part of my daily life. A lot of benefits! It also enables me to distinguish positive emotions such as joy, love, and happiness.
Thank you for sharing Bella! I’m glad that you have benefited from using essential oils.
I love the citrus oils and rosemary oils; so uplifting and brighten my day!
I prefer rosemary oil too, it helps improve memory, concentration, and mental alertness, and help treat headaches and migraines.
I am using lavender oil since 2016. It helps me to relax and sleep. Excellent work, Sir, thank you.
